Why does my blood sugar keep rising in the morning?
Looking at your last 5 mornings...

You're not imagining it. On 4 of your last 5 mornings, your glucose climbed about 45 mg/dL between 4 and 8 AM, before you'd eaten anything.

This is really common. Early in the morning your body releases hormones that help you wake up, and they can nudge glucose up. Your two highest mornings, Tuesday and Thursday, both followed a snack after 10 PM.

What can I try?
Thinking...

One small experiment: this week, try finishing your evening snack by 9 PM. I'll line up your mornings side by side so you can see if it makes a difference.

If the morning rise keeps happening, mention it to your care team at your next visit. I can add it to your summary for them.

LAST WEEK · OCT 11 – OCT 17

Here’s what I noticed…

A steady week, with one late night

Walks after lunch paid off

On the four days you walked after lunch, your afternoon rise was about half as tall as on the days you didn’t.

Mornings drifted up

Most mornings rose a little before breakfast, often after a late snack. Worth a closer look together.

Friday ran late

A late dinner out kept you above range until about 1 AM. It was the one day under your goal.

Here’s what the numbers say…

It's basically an app like MyFitnessPal for type 1 diabetics. I really like that you can take a picture of your food and it will calculate everything for you. I'm obsessed.
