GlucoSense Launches AI Blood Sugar Companion to Transform Diabetes Care with Real-Time, Personalized Insights
Born from Georgia Tech research, the GlucoSense Companion turns CGM data into real-time insights, making diabetes support simpler, more accessible, and actionable.
GlucoSense, a digital health company that originated from research at Georgia Tech, has launched the GlucoSense Companion, an advanced AI system built to dynamically analyze blood sugars and uncover personalized lifestyle patterns for people living with diabetes.
The Companion, introduced in Version 2.0 of the GlucoSense app, leverages the company’s proprietary GlucoScore™ algorithm to help users see exactly how their glucose levels respond to sleep, exercise, nutrition, insulin doses, and more. Acting as a real-time reflection tool, it surfaces personalized insights that empower users to learn from their past and confidently plan for the future.
“We built the GlucoSense Companion to go beyond numbers. It’s about translating data into understanding that empowers people to take control of their health,” said Cole Chalhub, Co-founder and COO of GlucoSense. “Diabetes doesn’t come with a manual and day-to-day support is limited, so we built a system that helps people decode the mystery on their own.”
The U.S. is currently facing a severe shortage of diabetes care. GlucoSense aims to make support more accessible by delivering personalized health insights that meet patients where they're at, in the moments that matter most.
Since its launch earlier this year, the company has rolled out pilots with major healthcare systems and secured a digital partnership with Dexcom, positioning GlucoSense as a leading innovator at the intersection of AI and diabetes care.
A New Level of Understanding for People with Diabetes
Unlike traditional “logging” apps, GlucoSense uses machine learning and generative ai to identify behavioral trends that correlate with glucose variability and patterns. The AI Companion connects the dots between daily life and blood sugar outcomes, from late-night snacking to weekend workouts to changes in stress or routine.
“After experiencing a stress-induced hypoglycemic seizure in college,” said Jonathan Fitch, Co-founder and CEO, who was inspired to build GlucoSense through his personal challenges with type one diabetes. “I realized how reactive and isolating diabetes care had become. The GlucoSense Companion is our way of making it smarter, more human, and easier to stay ahead.”
Since its release, the Companion has already received enthusiastic feedback from users:
“I'm no longer in the dark and have regained control. Every newly diagnosed diabetic should be required to use this app.” - GlucoSense User
“These insights are incredible. I had no idea my levels were fluctuating so much until I started using [GlucoSense].” - GlucoSense User
